Before diving into our four inspiring recipes, let’s examine why beef mince is such a great ingredient.
What’s good about beef mince?
Beef mince is one of the most versatile ingredients you can find. It’s easy to cook with, nutritious and lends itself to many tasty dishes that appeal across the ages.
As well as a rich source of protein, it’s high in vitamins and minerals: notably vitamin B12, zinc and iron.
And if you purchase grass fed beef, you’ll be making the healthiest choice. It’s the only type of beef we sell, and for good reason!
It’s been found to be superior to grain-fed beef for several reasons. Firstly, our grass-fed cattle live as natural a life as possible, raised by local independent farmers and free to roam and graze on pasture.
You won’t find any added hormones or antibiotics in our meat. Our cattle’s healthy free-range lifestyle means they’re not necessary.
Because we use mobile abattoirs, we ensure that our beef is processed on the farm, so the animals’ lives are kept as stress-free as possible, even at the end. This means there’s full traceability, too, since it’s easy to know exactly where your meat comes from.
As well as the ethical concerns, there are health benefits to grass fed beef too. It contains less total fat than grain-fed beef and up to three times the amount of conjugated linoleic acids. These “healthy fats” help reduce cholesterol levels and lower your risk of serious illnesses, such as cancer and cardiovascular disease.
Grass-fed beef is also higher in omega-3 fatty acids, which work to reduce inflammation in the body, and vitamins A and E.
