We personally visit each farm to ensure that it meets our high standards of management and we take the time to ensure that the farmer’s values are aligned with ours.
Each of our farmers is hand-selected based on their high welfare farming practices and the quality of livestock they produce.
While each farm is different and management practices vary, depending on local conditions, all of our farmers raise their livestock naturally, free-range and they are grass-fed.
Cattle graze on natural pastures, hay or silage, with access to clean drinking water, shelter and shade. Free to express their natural character, cattle are kept within the family herd, with calves remaining with their mothers for a minimum of six months.
Low-stress handling techniques are utilised on-farm, ensuring cattle are calm and treated with respect, while there are never any hormones, herd antibiotics or intensive feedlots.
Provenir is not breed-specific, we understand that different cattle are better suited to various conditions and farming models. We also believe that beef should be appreciated for the different qualities that it embodies.
Through true digital provenance, we envisage a day that the ‘terroir’ of beef will be celebrated in the same way that the geographic and varietal variations are celebrated in fine wine.

Provenir operates as an acquisition-based model, purchasing and processing grass-fed livestock (currently only cattle) on the farm.
We’re currently partnering with farmers in NSW turning off ~200 head of cattle per year, and farmers in Victoria turning off ~20 head of cattle per year. Cattle must be grass-fed and finished to live weights of 450kg+ up to 750kg.
