The feedback we receive from our customers makes all the early mornings and hard work worthwhile. “The best beef you’ll ever have!” certainly helped. Read what some of our customers have recently said, and our point of view on why the taste they experience is different.
We take great pride in producing ethically sourced, high quality beef products that taste as good as they look. The feedback from our customers drives us to do even better. So on those rainy, cold mornings when bed seems like a much better idea, reading your reviews gets us up and into it with a skip in our step. Here are some of our recent motivations and our opinions on what you said.

The totally chilled rump steak
The rump steak has always been totally underrated. When it comes from animals that are well cared for and it is ethically and skillfully processed, you will be hard pressed to find a more tender cut for the price. Thomas agrees:
“By far the best rump steak I have ever had. It made me very happy to finally have steak the way it is meant to be. Everything about this steak is amazing. Very tender, gleaming with freshness and very bright red colour, and tastes delicious! Call me crazy, but I swear the meat just has a more relaxed, gentle vibe about it.” – Thomas
Relaxed is right Thomas. Because that’s what our animals are and that makes a big difference to the tenderness and flavour. Our on-farm processing means less stress, and less stress means less adrenaline produced, and thus more retained glycogen stores in the meat, leading to exceptional eating quality, taste and tenderness.

Top chefs prefer grass
Eye fillet is a king of cuts, but the supermarket version never seems to live up to what you might have experienced in a fine dining restaurant. The reason for that is grass. Many top restaurants prefer grass fed, grass finished beef. Now our customers are starting to understand why:
“Some nicely centre cut eye fillets with good marbling especially for grass fed. These BBQ well and are quite tender. Can’t go back to supermarket steaks after these.” – Court
“This eye fillet is just superb, the flavour, the texture – like nothing we have had before. Knowing the meat is high-welfare is very important to us too. Absolutely recommend this product, no hesitation.” – Julie
Much of the beef available today has had at least some grain finishing. Now some people like grain-finished beef but the reason it is so prevalent is because it is cheaper to produce and less viable land can be used. Provenir only partners with farmers who raise their livestock free-range and grass-fed. For cattle and lamb, this means they are fed on natural grasses, pasture, hay or silage. It makes a big difference to flavour and this is what top chefs understand.

The family know something’s up
Hamburgers were always a way to use leftover, less quality beef. But even the smallest of your tribe can tell the difference with Provenir hamburgers. Cate’s kids could:
“These were the best burgers I have ever had, the whole family loved them. Will be buying all our future meat through Provenir to support better welfare of the animals which shows through the quality of the products they produce.” – Cate
Cate’s experience with our hamburger showcases how our commitment to quality and ethical practices translates into delicious, family-approved meals, but a key difference is not what is in the hamburger but what is left out. Provenir hamburger contains beef, salt, pepper, parsley, sage, paprika and rosemary. That’s it. Everything you want and nothing you don’t.

Old school flavour through new age care
Beef tallow went out of favour for many years but with our focus on more balanced diets, using good quality fats in moderation for that special flavour is back on trend. Pam is onto it:
“I absolutely love “The Good Fat”! I love that it is grass fed/finished so there are no sneaky hormones and other un-naturals floating around in the fat somewhere. Tastes sensational on roasts and frying steaks etc. It definitely takes you back to the good old days when the Sunday roasts were so delicious, tallow gives anything I cook in it a special mouth-watering aroma and taste”. – Pam
Pam has picked up on a key point here – no hormones! Provenir farmers raise their livestock naturally, they do not add hormones or antibiotics to the feed as growth promotants. Combined with their exclusively grass fed diets we can produce beef tallow that provides maximum taste and aroma with no nasty additives, bringing a nostalgic flavour to modern kitchens.
